Description

New pc, incorporating a couple parts from my previous (and first) build, Frey.

Freya Ingunn, meaning Goddess of love in old Norwegian language. Very cool sounding name imo. (according to my limited research. Correct me if I'm wrong here).

Fully built 12/26/2022, I used parts I think are good within my budget of $4,000 ish.

I was originally going to use Windows 10, but I was having troubles installing it, so I just formatted a flash drive with 11 and ran with it. Works alright so far, but there are definitely some changes I'm not too fond of. Mainly the fact that a lot of important menus for productivity (renaming files, etc.) are hidden behind a "More Options" tab you have to spend an extra click on. Overall, better than 8 (not that it means much, lol).

This is my main computer, and I use it to game, work on homework, do some light photo/video editing, stream videos/movies, and browse using Opera GX and DuckDuckGo.

That's pretty much it! Thanks for taking an interest~

Part Reviews

Thermal Compound

Came free with the Noctua NH-D15 82.5 CFM.

Storage

Came from Frey. Running perfectly, even after 6 years of constant use!

Video Card

Bit big, consumes a lot of power, runs a bit hot. Overall very powerful though, so it's good.

Case

There are some features I'd like added (creature comforts), but for the price, it's good.

Operating System

It's windows...

Wireless Network Adapter

Runs ok, it's alright. BT is a struggle to get working, though.

Case Fan

They're good, and fit the build theme.

Keyboard

It works. Synapse software is ok. Razer is Razer.

Mouse

It works. Mirrored review from the keyboard (Ornata V2). The scroll wheel feels cheap in use.

Headphones

Uncomfortable, mid, ok sound. Nothing impressive. Not worth the $70. I would say it was good if it was $40 instead.

Headphones

Used them for a long a** time with Frey. They stand the test of time, and the mic works. Recommend.

External Storage

Bit slow (as expected of an external drive), but works good and has a lot of space. Good for a portable file backup.

Custom

Software is confusing as heck, and frustrating to set up. It works, but it's not nearly as good as people told me it was. Too much hype.

Custom

Overpriced webcam, mid as heck software. It works though, so whatevs.
